  • Recruitment Requirements

GoW is a Guild of mature individuals (with immature chat) striving to crush our opponents while maintaining the discipline and coordination necessary to do so without the use of overwhelming numbers or relying on our allies to bail us out of every situation. We are not the zerg.

We have a minimum age requirement of 18. The language that occasionally is used in our voicecomms and on our other communication methods may be objectionable to some, so we ask that you do not apply unless you are at least 18 years of age. Our core membership is 25 years old and older on average.

If you believe you are mature enough to handle being a member of our team and are under 18 years of age, you may still apply and be considered for membership.

We have members from Australia and Japan to Denmark, with our core being from the US and Canada. We have a strong contingent of active duty and former US military members from all branches of service.

Understand that the Ghosts of War is an online gaming community with a focus on MMORPGs, but our membership branches to all forms of video games. Our core, founding membership has roots in games like Ultima Online, Asheron’s Call, Dark Age of Camelot, EverQuest, Lineage, Shadowbane and Anarchy Online.

GoW’s roots come from open PvP games where corpse looting, siege warfare, and open world group combat were the rule rather than the exception. This is what brought the guild together in Shadowbane in 2003 on the War server, where most of our core members played together under several different leaders and guild tags until the server closed.

We require GameVox, Slack, Voxer and Forum usage to join. Applicants will be subject to a written application as well as a verbal interview in GameVox.

We don't allow smacktalking and boardwarrioring as a rule, and you must be willing to #1 level a primary character as quickly as possible to level cap, and #2 be willing to take constructive criticism about your build up-to and including speccing a character to the needs of the guild. When you fly our flag, you represent us as a whole and the consequences of your actions will be weighed against you if necessary.

If you are interested in joining a guild that isn’t full of smacktalking attention whores - where the leadership doesn’t charge taxes for being a member or hoard the good loot for themselves, and who strives to continuously learn, adapt and excel in the games we play – we encourage you to apply.

Cry "Havoc!" and let slip the Ghosts of War...
